I'll say this about Super Bowl XLVII. Even if you weren't watching for the Baltimore Ravens to kick some 49ers rear end, those Super Bowl commercials kept you plenty entertained. And at $3.8 million for each 30-second time slot, they should have! We had Doritos-munching goats, Amy Poehler asking naughty questions about 50 Shades of Grey, and some tearjerking moments with a certain Clydesdale. So which ads were actually worth all that cash? There have been some pretty crazy moments in the 47 years of Super Bowl history. But Super Bowl XLVII may just have taken the prize for the craziest game on record. The lights in the Superdome went out in the middle of the game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens, for crying out loud! And did you catch that Ravens player pushing the ref? Oh, my heart hurts today. In a twist on the standard child custody cases that make the news, a dad named Richard Rodwell is making news for getting back the child support he'd paid to his wife plus damages totalling $40,000. It turns out Rodwell really never needed to pay because his kids weren't really his kids at all. Rodwell's ex-wife, Helen, had been lying to him for years. Eventually a paternity test proved the teenaged kids each had different fathers. But while this one is marked in the win column for the rights of men, I don't see any winners here.

In further proof that it's hard out there for moms who want to celebrate their kids' birthdays without ending up in the poor house, allow me to present exhibit a: kids' spa parties. Yes, you read that right. Wee little children aren't just being spoiled with a day at the spa; they are bringing along a gaggle of their besties to be indulged! I must be doing something wrong. Here I was married and pregnant before I stepped foot in a spa!

When it comes to the debate over which is better for baby -- breast or bottle -- the answer seems to be whatever is best for mom. But there's a new study out that shows a dangerous trend among some bottlefeeding moms. Moms, take heed: it turns out there is one time when formula really is dangerous for babies. Researchers recently looked at how the economy is affecting how moms feed their babies. According to the study in Clinical Pediatrics, a scary number of moms who are struggling to make ends meet are doing what is known as "stretching" their babies' formula these days.

Once upon a time, Kyle King was the mensch-y boyfriend Teen Mom fans couldn't imagine Maci Bookout living without. Looks like those days are long gone. The reality star recently caught her ex-boyfriend posting photos of her 4-year-old son Bentley on Twitter. No surprise he has some pictures -- King is the guy who once babysat her son while she went to her college classes, who helped potty train the toddler. He was a very involved father figure when he was dating Maci, even though Bentley has a real dad (Maci's ex Ryan Edwards). But he wasn't acting like much of a father figure when Maci called him out on the photos.

When folks in the Inverness, Florida area jumped on Facebook recently, they found a plea from a mom they knew. Her 6-month-old son has died, and she needs donations to help pay for his funeral. Who wouldn't be moved by such a heartbreaking tale? Brittany Arnett's friends were. That is until cops say Arnett confessed to murdering her 6-month-old son Hadley in a fit of anger.

Teenagers get a bad rap, especially when they're in big groups acting rowdy. But here's a lesson for moms who give their teens grief for hanging out with their pals and doing nothing. When a would-be child abductor tried to grab toddlers in a Florida park on Saturday, it was the group of loud teens who came to their rescue. The story goes that Sharaya Smith had taken her 3-year-old daughter and 4-year-old nephew to the park to play, and she'd told the noisy teens to knock it off. Fortunately the kids didn't hold it against her when a man came out of the woods and made for the toddlers.

When I first got pregnant, I didn't plan to have an only child. But after a miserable pregnancy complete with hyperemisis gravidarum (the sort of morning sickness that hospitalized Kate Middleton), the reasons to stop at one started mounting. Some are serious, some not. All are very personal. And I have a message for all my fellow one and done parents out there. People can tell you that you're selfish, but until they know your story, they have no room to judge. In fact, I asked some other parents who have decided one child is it for them to 'fess up to the whys and wherefores. Their stories, the real stories of why people have only children, are anything but selfish:

Have you ever stopped to consider how long it would take the cops to arrive at your doorstep if you called them? Did you factor in the time they'll spend drinking coffee and ignoring the call? That's what cops in Florida's Miami-Dade County are accused of doing when emergency calls came in for matters as serious as an unconscious 5-month-old! The report from the internal affairs investigation is the latest to shine a bad light on police departments in America, and it's shocking in a whole new way. Dirty cops who are on the take are bad enough. Cops who can't take time out of their busy coffee-drinking schedules to actually help people in dire need are another breed entirely.

Good news alert! The kidnapped brothers reported missing in North Miami this week have been found! Little Darren Bonilla, 5, and Rey Bonilla, 3, are back home with their mom, safe and sound. As for the woman who allegedly took them? She's been found too. Cops talked to her. Then they released her. OK, so maybe not all the news is good.

Here we go again. The United States Postal Service (USPS) is making some more big changes that will send us all into a tizzy. The latest? Saturday delivery is about to go bye bye. Because hey, if they're having trouble getting customers, the best way to attract more is by providing fewer services, right? Right? Sigh. The Saturday delivery change won't go into effect for another six months, but we already know it's going to suck. Let's just count the ways, shall we?

Maybe you sighed a big breath of relief thinking the "Gangnam Style" craze was over, but even Psy haters are having a hard time hating on the latest viral video featuring the catchy South Korean hit. After all, who can hate on a cute baby? Even a cute baby who dances? Bribery, it will get you everywhere as a parent. But the older they get, the more it's going to cost you. Take the dad who paid his kid $200 to quit Facebook. Paul Baier's daughter Rachel is 14 -- old enough to legally use the social media site -- so I suppose a pile of M&M's or stickers wasn't going to work here. But I can't be the only parent thinking this is a giant waste of $200.
