Nude sunbathing
never made much sense to me. Why you'd want to risk overbaking your sensitive bits is beyond me. But usually I could give two hoots what happens to the folks who sunbathe in the buff. Usually. I confess I'm a wee bit gleeful to hear what happened to the guy who decided to drop trou, lay out on a stranger's dock, and fell asleep.

The 30-year-old Texas man ended up with second degree burns over 40 percent of his body. Those are the kind that hurt like nobody's business and inevitably turn blistery then peel, taking all that sunny coloring right with it. Police had to take him straight to the hospital, already covered in blisters and suffering from the sort of skin burns they said are typically seen in a car or house fire. Ye-owch!

Serves him right.

Yeah, yeah, that's mean. But what kind of moron goes wandering around the neighborhood, spots a stranger's dock, takes off all his clothes, then takes a nap? The cops said he was under the influence of some substance -- probably drugs. But the guy took a double dose of stupid pills along with whatever he ingested.

It's not a big secret that when you lie out in the sun, you risk skin cancer. It's even less of a secret that too much time in the sun will lead to a sunburn. And I'm pretty willing to bet that by the age of 30, the average American knows that trespassing will get you in trouble. Trespassing in the nude, well, that's just the icing on the cake for the prosecution.

But even covered in blisters, the naked man is luckier than most. The woman who owned the dock has decided not to press charges after all. I don't know if I would have been so kind.

Do you feel bad for this guy?
