Finally! It feels like we've been waiting all year, for Glee to bring us the super-hyped all Michael Jackson episode. And so what if "all year" is just a few weeks, this is the Season 3 episode that will be impossible to top!
I say it just three weeks into the second half of the season because there's one thing music fans -- even Gleeks -- know. You do not top Michael. Not even the New Directions can top Michael. And that's OK!
We're watching for the music anyway . . . right. Right?
The writers tried to make us forget. They gave us good story! Kurt got into NYADA, and they left us in suspense about Rachel until the end. Quinn got into Yale and tried to convince Rachel she needed to ditch Lima and all that was in it (ahem, Finn) along with her. And Blaine got a slushie treated with rock salt to the cornea from slimy Sebastian, starting an all-out war with the Warblers.
They even tried to start an all out war by letting Rachel Berry blaspheme about the King of Pop. Whoever wrote the words, "I have to be honest; I never really got him. I think he's an amazing performer, but I never really got what he's about," has an evil streak. Just sayin'.
But all of that pales when you put Santana, Sebastian and the insanely talented guys from 2Cellos in a room to see who's better at being a Smooth Criminal:

OK, so it's the song that made the Bad album what it is. Hard to compete, right?
But give Glee props, this was a Michael tribute in the truest sense of the word. They pulled out Ben -- really guys, Ben? -- from its ONE week atop the American charts way back in the dark ages, er, '70s. They had Artie up out of his wheelchair singing Scream with Mike Chang to remind us of his duets with Janet. Even Quinn got to bring us back to his childhood with the Jackson 5 blast from the past Never Can Say Goodbye. And of course we got the favorites -- Wanna Be Startin' Something, Black or White, Human Nature...
And even this Gleek with a capital L on her forehead was too busy wanting more Michael when it was all over to consider both Kurt and Rachel heading off to NYADA next year (I know, I know). The New Directions will have their turn to rule the roost again next week . . . unless their sexy new Spanish teacher steals the show?
Which Michael Jackson song totally stole the show from the kids for you?
