Andre CurryAh! Another day, another idiot dad accused of posting inappropriate photos on Facebook. Really fills you with the holiday spirit, doesn't it?

No really! The case of Andre Curry, a dad who allegedly bound his 1-year-old daughter in duct tape as punishment, then posted a photo of his child abusing ways on the social networking site with the words "This is wut happens wen my baby hits me back," is both absolutely abhorrent and so perfect cops couldn't have planned it better if they tried.

Now Curry is facing abuse charges. His 1-year-old daughter has been saved. Thank goodness for oversharing on social media!

Sadly, child abuse is going to happen in America. All the public service announcements and parent training in the world cannot stop it all. The latest statistics (from 2009) show 3.3 million child abuse reports and allegations are made in the average year, involving an estimated 6 million children.

But if you remember the "bong baby" back in 2010, the child photographed with the drug paraphernalia was yanked out of the idiot mom's home faster than you can say Facebook. Obviously, being in a home controlled by child protective services is a much safer option for an 11-month-old than sitting around with a glass bong up to the lips. But what are the chances that anyone would have figured out the child was in danger if the mom hadn't made such a stupid mistake?

Babies can't tell people they're being abused. And older kids are often afraid of telling anyone because this is a family member hurting them, someone they love. Sadly, many of these kids don't even realize that life could be better for them somewhere else.

Now imagine if the parents of all 6 million abused kids did what Andre Curry allegedly did? If they took a picture of their daughter bound in duct tape and posted it for the world to see? We wouldn't have to wait around until some daycare worker notices odd bruises or a teacher gains the trust of a timid kid. We'd be able to rescue these kids right away, and save them from weeks, months, maybe years of painful abuse.

What Andre Curry allegedly did to his child is disgusting. I feel for that little girl, and I wish she'd never been hurt. But I can't think of a better way for this whole thing to go down, can you?
