Glee fans already know creator Ryan Murphy is a guy who really "gets" the issues on kids' minds today. And now Murphy has a kid of his own! The TV producer and husband David Miller welcomed a little boy on Christmas Eve, introducing him to the world with the requisite newborn in a stocking photo.  Delivered by a surrogate (hey, sounds like a certain show called The New Normal, doesn't it?), this is the couple's first child. I'm calling it right now: Logan Phineas Miller Murphy stands to be one of the luckiest kids in the world. Just think about it.

So, on a scale of one to 10, how much work are your kids? Enough that you'd need not one but two nannies to keep them in line? Maybe you should send them to live with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, then! The engaged couple has six kids, and on their Christmas trip to designer Donna Karan's house in Turks and Caicos, the Pitt-Jolies apparently brought along 12 nannies. A little quick math, and that's two nannies per kid.

It's been more than two weeks since the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, and finally someone has come forward to claim shooter Adam Lanza's body. The man responsible for killing 27 people, including his own mother, school staff, and some 20 children, will now be buried. So who cares enough about a murderer to see that he's put to rest with some dignity?

All right folks, better take some Dramamine! It's time to jump on the Jenelle Evans relationship rollercoaster, taking off from crazytown station right about ... now! You may have heard talk of the Teen Mom 2 star considering a divorce from brand new hubby Courtland Rogers? We might as well drop "considering" and call it official.  Jenelle says she's "single" these days, and the MTV star is more than willing to spill the why already. Divorce lawyers, are you taking notes?

Do you know the difference between a father and a dad? The folks in the Department of Children and Families in Shawnee County, Kansas clearly don't. The department is going after a man who donated sperm out of the goodness of his heart to a lesbian couple. They expect the sperm donor to pay child support. Sure, William Marotta is biologically connected to Angela Bauer and Jennifer Schreiner's child. But can anyone really say he's the girl's dad?

8 Awesome T-Shirts for Inspiring Little Girls

If you've gone shopping for a girl in elementary school lately, you've probably noticed it's slim pickings on the shelves. Between the shirts that treat our daughters like they're dumb and the outfits designed for teens but sold to 6-year-olds, there's a lot to be depressed about. But as we enter 2013, can we talk about the good news? In addition to the idiots telling our girls they're too pretty for homework are small business owners -- many of them parents -- who are pushing out clothes meant to celebrate all the power there is in being a girl. They're people like Kevin Wagstaff, father of a 6-year-old, who created Keira's Kollection, a line of shirts sporting messages about confidence, bravery, and smarts. And there's a lot more where that came from.

Mom Theresa Nash and sons Ben and Henry Cleary have an Amber Alert, and a complete stranger, to thank for getting them home. Yes, the Amber Alerts really do work. Thank goodness!

Let me guess. Giving the house a deep clean is somewhere near the top of your list of New Year's resolutions. Welcome to the club, now how are you going to handle all the stains you're going to come across? Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy! No really, lemon does wonders around the house. And there's a lot more of that kind of easy to fix stain clean-up where that come from. Just get a load of this list:

10 Rules Kids Should Agree to Before Getting Cellphones

Looking for a new hero? How about Janell Hoffman? The mother of a 13-year-old who wanted a smartphone for Christmas decided she'd grant his big wish ... but before Janell handed over the shiny new iPhone, the Massachusetts mom made teenage son Greg sign an 18-point contract she'd written up. Love my cellphone though I do (seriously, you'll have to pry my iPhone from my cold, dead hands), I have to admit this woman is a mom after my own heart. Everywhere you turn, there's another "jerk with a cellphone," and parents handing them out to snot-nosed teenagers willy nilly doesn't exactly help. In fact, I'm wondering if Hoffman went far enough.

Plan to Put Wi-Fi on School Buses Is Like Asking Kids to Visit X-Rated Sites

At first glance, it reads like a brilliant idea. Some schools are adding Wi-Fi capabilities to their school buses so kids can do their work on the go. Who doesn't want their kid doing something useful with their time, right? Well, that all depends on what you consider useful. Is looking at porn useful?

Good news alert! The lawsuit filed on behalf of Jill Doe, an anonymous 6-year-old survivor of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, has been dropped. The State of Connecticut will not be on the hook for the outrageous $100 million that New Haven, Connecticut-based attorney Irving Pinsky was threatening to extract. And here's hoping this sends a message to the world. Tragedies are just that. They're tragic happenings. They're not money-making opportunities.

I've always believed that you can tell a lot about a child's personality from the get-go. Even little babies show us hints of who they are going to be when they grow up. And when new dad Randy Atkins captured a now viral photo of his baby girl reaching out of her mom's womb to grab the doctor's finger right in the middle of her C-section, he got photographic evidence of her little personality. Little Nevaeh Atkins is parents' Alicia and Randy's third child, and she's already tugged fingers and heartstrings alike ... all thanks to Dad's quick finger on that shutter.

We've all heard the saying "crime doesn't pay," and one Florida thief just found out the hard way. Cops say Gary Robert Haines was robbing a house in Glades County when a plane flew overhead. Unlucky for Haines, the Cessna was being flown by pilot David Zehntner, the OWNER of the house! Yeah, the pilot actually watched his own house being robbed. From the air! If you don't believe in coincidences, it's time to start.

School Without Recess Is a Big, Fat Waste of Time

FINALLY! I have been saying for years that school is not just about academics. And now a group of doctors agrees with me. The American Academy of Pediatrics has come out to say -- get this -- recess is just as important as class time. Got that? They're not just saying that recess is important because, really, DUH. They are saying that recess = class time.

6-Year-Old Boy Is Suspended for Pointing Fingers at Classmate Like a Gun

Talk about an over-reaction! A 6-year-old boy has been suspended from school for pointing his finger like a gun and saying "pow" to another student. The Maryland first grader is unlucky enough to have gotten caught up in the mass anxiety that's swept American school districts in the wake of the shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School. Let's just set aside the debate over kids and gun play for a second, shall we? Unfortunately, his school record isn't going to reflect the national distress at the exact moment of his little mishap. Instead we have a 6-year-old whose minor transgression will follow him for the rest of his school career. Is that really fair?

This country is full of some truly sick people. Take Jean Henry. She works for the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Or should I say worked? Henry has been suspended from her job as an administrative assistant for allegedly allowing her husband to sneak in to ogle at Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza's body. What kind of people work at a medical examiner's office and think this is acceptable? No. Wait. What kind of people think this is acceptable?

Every Parent Has the Right to Give Their Baby a Horrible Name

If you think you've had a rough time naming your baby, consider this: a 15-year-old in Iceland is in a major battle with the government right now over the name her mom gave her at birth. Turns out Blaer Bjarkardottir's mom forgot to check with the government before she named her daughter. This kid has lived for 15 years with an illegal name! Now ... just imagine living in a place where the government has a say in naming your kid. Still think baby naming is hard in America?

New mothers of the world, gather 'round. Do you realize what you have now? Yeah, yeah, it's a baby. But that's not all! You now have a ready-made excuse to get out of pretty much everything! A few of my friends have even admitted that this is the very best reason to have kids! While they were joking (I think), I don't think it's a stretch to say it's one of the perks of parenthood. Behold all that you can avoid now that you have a baby!

Classmates Take Picture of Girl Undressing in Locker Room and Circulate It Online

Think the big "no sexting" talk is going to protect your kids? Hold that thought. A set of parents in Oklahoma is in the midst of a battle with their local school district after photos of their 16-year-old daughter in her underwear hit the Internet. Only the girl (whose name is being kept under wraps to protect her identity) didn't take the photos. She didn't even pose for them. In fact, the lawsuit alleges the teenage basketball player was held down in the locker room after a game. Someone snapped the photos, popped them up on Twitter, and the girl was cyberbullied for weeks.

No matter which side of the gun control argument you're on, a tragedy out of Virginia is sure to give you pause. Cops say a 13-year-old boy was out hunting with his dad when he shot what he thought was a deer. Sadly, what the teen hit was actually his own dad, and the shot was fatal. That's right. A child killed his own father. Right now Sansford Ray Semones' death is being termed "accidental."
