The mother of a baby switched in a Minnesota hospital this week is understandably upset about the switch. But that's not what has Tammy Van Dyke really all hot and bothered. The newborn boy was breastfed by the wrong mother! Think that's no big deal? For a second, I was right there with you. So she breastfed him, so what? At least it was a kind and loving moment. Except ... let's think about what happens when you breastfeed a baby.

It's every mother's nightmare. She drops her kid off at daycare, and a sex offender somehow gets a hold of them. Only in Massachusetts, there is no mystery to how John Burbine had access to children. His wife, Marian Burbine, opened a daycare center and employed her husband, even though cops say she knew that he was a convicted sex offender and had been the subject of child sex abuse allegations several times over the years. Now John Burbine is facing charges for allegedly abusing 13 different kids at the Waterfall Education Center over the years. The kids ranged from as young as 8 days old to just 3 1/2! That's the sort of depraved thing that happens when you let the fox into the henhouse.

Santa May Be a Lie But I'll Be Darned If I'm Going to Tell My Daughter the Truth

A con. A lie. A guarantee your kids will become drug addicts. I think I've heard all the anti-Santa diatribes I can take this holiday season. The grumpy mom in Miracle on 34th Street who refused to let her daughter believe in the big guy with the beard was sweet and cuddly compared to the Santa hate that seems to be oozing out on the Internet this holiday season. I get it! Not every parent on the block wants their kid believing in Santa Claus! But even as I'm typing this with my home-sick-from-school 7-year-old buzzing around, I'm carefully hiding my laptop screen because I want my child to believe in Santa Claus for as long as she possible can.

Confessed Serial Killer Israel Keyes' Murder Spree Was All for 'Fun'

We may finally have a clue to the motive of confessed serial killer Israel Keyes, the man who committed suicide in his jail cell earlier this week. His early death seemed to be the end of the mystery of at least a dozen murders committed across the United States, including that of young Alaska barista Samantha Koenig, whose kidnapping and killing landed Keyes in jail. But cops now say that they did get something out of Keyes when he confessed to killing Koenig. Get ready, America. This isn't the motive that we all hoped would make us feel better. Israel Keyes allegedly murdered nearly a dozen people because, well, hey it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Comedian Katt Williams Arrested Again But He's Finally Learned His Lesson -- Maybe

Good grief! Comedian Katt Williams just can't seem to sit down, shut up, and stay out of trouble. In his ongoing efforts to prove to the world that he is a total badass, Williams has been arrested again! The Scary Movie 5 actor's run-ins with law enforcement happened so many times in the past week or so that, quite frankly, we have lost count. First there was that crazy police chase through Sacramento on a three-wheeler. Then that whole alleged slapping of a Target employee. And let's not forget the bar fight (heaven forbid you forget that) last weekend. Heck, by those crazy standards, this arrest actually seems, well ... tame!

It's the American way to dream of being a celebrity. But if the whole hullabaloo over Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Brooke Mueller being rushed to the hospital is any indication, it's much easier wallowing in obscurity. The mother of Sheen's twin sons is busy today fighting allegations that she overdosed on drugs. Mueller actually has a toxicology report that she's showing off to prove there were no drugs in her system yesterday, even though she was found unresponsive by her assistant. Can you imagine?

A 7-year-old boy was shot to death under mysterious circumstances in western Pennsylvania today. The little boy was in his family car, outside a gun store, strapped into his booster seat, when police say a gun somehow fired, hitting the child square in the chest. Cops won't say yet whether the shooting outside Twig's Reloading Den in Mercer was an accident or something done intentionally. But one thing is clear: that little boy didn't have a chance. He was strapped into his car seat, his dad was backing out of a parking space, and all of a sudden, his life was over.

Ooof, my heart hurts for Jennie Garth today. Our girl Kelly Taylor admits she is hurting, y'all! Ex-husband Peter Facinelli is officially back out there, dating Nurse Jackie co-star Jaimie Alexander. And the mother of his children has had to take questions from the media on how she feels about it all. Any guesses what she had to say about this new woman in Peter's life?

It's been a bad week for Brandi Glanville, and it's about to get worse. She admitted herself that she came off as "an a-hole" in Monday night's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills episode. But much worse than that, Glanville's doctors have confirmed they found a tumor in her breast, and she'll have to have surgery so they can remove it. But if you're going to go under the knife, Glanville is doing it the best way possible. She already knows she does not have breast cancer.

In this world there are people who get Tyler Perry's brand of humor. Then there are the rest of us. We're the people who saw Jamie Foxx dig his comedic claws into Madea this weekend on Saturday Night Live and wanted to watch it over and over and over again. If you're a proud member of the "Why the hell do people watch Tyler Perry movies" fan club, allow me to share with you the hilarious gem that came out of Foxx's hosting duties this weekend. He might be all Mr. Serious Actor these days, but I saw flashes of Foxx the funny man we all loved from his In Living Color days in his faux trailer for Tyler Perry Presents: Alex Cross 2 : Madea Special Ops. It's like Jamie Foxx and SNL's giant holiday gift to the Anti-Tyler Perry Fans Club! Check it out:

A 5-year-old managed to get a window open in his apartment in Pennsylvania the other day, and the little boy fell four stories onto concrete. Don't worry; he survived (phewww). But Jared Collins was much more concerned about his mom than he was his two broken feet! I'm putting myself in Jared's mom's shoes right now, and I'm thinking she must have been a wreck. Wouldn't you be? But her sweet little guy calmed her right down.

Mom Abandons Disabled Daughter in Bar and I Don't Blame Her

I read the words "mom abandons disabled daughter in a bar," and my stomach clenched. What kind of mother, I started to rant, leaves their child? Their disabled child? But then I read Eva Cameron's story. I read the story that explains why the State of Tennessee has decided not to charge Cameron, why she will be walking away with nary a punishment for driving her daughter from her home state of Illinois south to a bar, letting 19-year-old Lynn Cameron walk in to use the bathroom, and driving away. Eva Cameron has already lived her punishment. The mother of three has an adult daughter who has cerebral palsy and is mentally just 3 years old, and she doesn't know what to do with her.

Parents Arrested for Trying to Take Sick Baby to Another Hospital

What's the scariest thing you can imagine as a parent. How about sitting, day after day, in a hospital at your baby's bedside? April Saul and Danny Rivera have watched their 3-month-old daughter lie in a NICU, hooked up to monitors, ever since she was born. Now they're facing criminal charges for unhooking their daughter, loading her in their car, and taking off for another hospital where they say there is a specialist who could help her. Saul and Rivera are facing charges of endangering the welfare of children and disorderly conduct for their grab and run with their own daughter, and little Aralynn is back in the NICU at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It's one of those bizarre cases where right and wrong have come together and become so tangled, it's hard to tell which way is up.

Dylan Redwine Ransom Scam Is a Sick Way to Steal Money From Well-Meaning People

As if the fact that 13-year-old Dylan Redwine has been missing for weeks is not making life hard enough for cops in Colorado, now things have gotten really complicated. There's a scam designed to take advantage of the good people of southwest Colorado who want to bring this little boy home to his parents. For the low, low price of a $4,000 ransom, the scammer will release the missing child so he can be home for Christmas. It sounds like a dream come true, doesn't it? Like you'd be the hero if you just scraped together the cash? I mean, what kind of jerk wouldn't want to help get a boy home to his family? Only, sadly, it's not true at all.

Graves Found at Former Reform School Help Many Dead Boys’ Families Get Answers

The horror story at a former reform school in Florida has just gotten more chilling. Rumors that more graves had been found at the Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys in Marianna started floating earlier this fall, and now they've been confirmed. We're now up to 50 graves, some of which are believed to be the final resting place of more than one young boy who attended the school. But the press conference that brought this awful news of 19 more graves has also brought us new perspective on the atrocities in Marianna this week. Among the people there? The family of a boy who died on the premises, a boy who was just 13 when he was sent there for "malicious trespassing" and who died within three months of leaving home.

Wearing Makeup Makes Me Feel Good About Me

I can't pin down an exact moment when I decided I had to start wearing makeup again. I remember looking at myself in the mirror and thinking I looked worn. Tired. Older than my (at the time) 29 years. I knew it was time. I pulled out the eyeliner, the eye shadow, the brushes.  I am a makeup-wearing mom again, and I won't look back. But this has nothing to do with looking pretty.

The bodies found by hunters earlier this month in a wildlife area have officially been identified as missing Iowa cousins Lyric Cook Morrissey and Elizabeth Collins. But if Heather Collins has anything to do with it, we may never know how the girls died. The mother of the younger of the two girls abducted in July while on a bike ride has come out to let the world know she has no interest in learning how her daughter died. In fact, 9-year-old Elizabeth's mom says she's already forgiven the killer (or killers) of her child and niece.

14-Year-Old Who Still Believes In Santa Needs Better Parents

What would you think if your 14-year-old still believed in Santa? That he was pulling your leg? That he was a little naive? That he was going to get his butt kicked on the school bus by some bully? When a mom recently proudly pronounced that her teenager is still wrapped up in the thrall of Santa, all three went through my mind, and then some. I get why the mom is so proud: I want my (now 7-year-old) daughter to enjoy the magic of childhood for as long as possible. But at what point does it become cruel to let our kids believe a fat guy in a red suit will be flying 'round the world on Christmas Eve?
