Post by Jeanne Sager
Maci Bookout has always been a bit of a fan favorite as far as the stars of Teen Mom go. She always seems to put herself out there for her son. But her decision to buy little Bentley a pair of designer jeans for his birthday makes you wonder if she isn't putting herself out there a little too much. Maci put up an adorable photo on Twitter this week of Bentley's little behind clad in a pair of True Religion jeans. She paired it with a self-deprecating joke about how spoiled the little guy is and an "early happy birthday wish" for the toddler.

Mariah Carey Isn't Nuts Enough to Make Her Baby Wear Glasses Just for Looks

It seems like every time I see a photo of Mariah Carey with daughter Monroe, the baby girl is wearing what writers keep referring to as "fashion glasses." It's as if people think Mimi puts a pair of specs on her baby because it's trendy, not because the little girl has a vision problem. Come on, even Mariah Carey can't be that much of a diva, can she? We're talking real glasses, not sunglasses. On a BABY! Doesn't that concept scare anyone else?

School Learns Beloved Teacher's Aide Helped Kill a Child Before Getting the Job

The teacher's aide suspended from her job has definitely put the concept of "background checks" under the microscope today. The BCLUW school district in Conrad, Iowa got an anonymous tip that a woman going by the name of Paula Pace was actually Paula Baniszewski, a woman convicted of manslaughter for her involvement in a gruesome child murder back in 1965. Do you ever stop to think about the people working at the businesses you frequent, the school where your kid matriculates and wonder: did they go through a background check? You will now, won't you?

Disabled Veteran Humiliated by Store Employees and Mocked for Dressing Like a Wounded Warrior

It sounds like a store in Texas just hit the jerk jackpot. The mattress store is accused of kicking a disabled man out for bringing his service dog inside. Oh, and did I mention this was a disabled veteran who was told he had to go? Adan Gallegos, who served in the US Army in Iraq, is suing Billy Bob's Beds (yes, that's the real name) after he says he and his service dog, Bootz, were given the boot from the store. Gallegos says the dog had his service vest and a leash on.

Popular Baby Bassinet Recalled After Infants Left Gasping for Breath

The bassinet is supposed to be a safe space for your precious baby. So the last thing you need to hear is a major recall, right? Sorry, Moms, but it's happened. The Dorel Juvenile Group is recalling nearly 100,000 of its Eddie Bauer bassinets because they put infants at risk of suffocation! The company has gotten 17-some reports of babies under 3 months old being rolled as the bassinet tips because of a spring problem. Some of the infants even suffered breathing issues from being stuck against the side of their little beds. Think this could be your bassinet? Here's what you need to know to keep your baby safe:

'Latina' Princess Sofia Is Now Just a Generic White Girl After Outrage

So much for progress! Disney had parents all excited last week when they let slip that Princess Sofia, main character of a new TV movie and spinoff series, was slated to be their first Latina princess, joining the likes of Princess Tiana and Princess Jasmine in representing little girls who aren't lily white. And now they've pulled the rug out from under our feet. Sorry, little Latina girls, but you're going to have to wait for your turn to see a Disney-fied version of you. The Mouse wasn't ready to deal with critics who said Sofia wasn't Latina enough, so they've decided she's not Latina at all.

Brave Mom of Autumn Pasquale’s Accused Killers Turned Her Own Sons In -- Would You?

The horrifying story of Autumn Pasquale, the missing New Jersey girl whose body was found in a recycling bin this week, has gotten more terrifying. Two teenage boys have been arrested and charged with killing the 12-year-old, allegedly over her bike. And now I'm going to be the first to say I feel sorry for the mother of the 15- and 17-year-old brothers charged with this crime. Yes, I feel sorry for Autumn's parents. My heart breaks in two for them. But that doesn't mean I can't have sympathy for the mom who turned her own sons in to the cops.

Wife of Whitney Heichel's Accused Murderer Could Use Some Sympathy Right Now

I can't help but wonder if the murder of Starbucks barista Whitney Heichel has haunted so many of us because we look at her and see a young woman newly married, ready for life's big adventures. I know that's what I see. It's the same thing I think when I look at photos of Amanda Holt, wife of Jonathan Holt, the neighbor accused of murdering Whitney after asking her for a ride. Amanda is a young wife too. She too had her whole life ahead of her with her husband, with friends like Whitney. And now that's been taken all away. She is a victim -- not in the same way as Whitney's widower Clint Heichel and his family -- but a victim all the same.

Whoever it was who first said "everything has its time" could have been talking about the dad who's making news this week for selling the incredible memorabilia collection he's spent years building just to help his ailing daughter. Talk about timing! We're about to spend weeks agonizing over our budgets so we can figure out how to buy a whole bunch of stuff for the different people in our lives without going broke. But here we have Ken Kallin. The man has spent three decades collecting gems like the autographs of Neil Armstrong, Bette Davis, and Muhammad Ali, and he's going to put it all on the auction block this weekend. You know why?

Mom Sets World Record By Donating 86 Gallons of Her Own Breast Milk

Sit a bunch of women in a room and bring up breastfeeding, and it's like Goldilocks come to life. Chances are one woman will be producing too little, one too much, and one just right. But "overproducers" take notice: a Texas mama who jokes that she became a dairy cow after giving birth has just set a world record for the amount of breast milk she donated to a milk bank. Go ahead and take a wild guess at how much Alicia Richman pumped for the Mother's Milk Bank of North Texas. Now add a few dozen gallons. Yeah, I said gallons.

Army Mom's Emotional Reunion With Daughter Is a Tribute to Military Families Everywhere (VIDEO)

I love military homecoming videos. They leave me with a tear-stained face, but my heart that's full to bursting makes up for all the crying. But the latest viral video of mom Melody Webb surprising her 8-year-old daughter at school took a surprising turn. The US Army Sgt. didn't spend much time talking about her service or even the service of her husband, who is also Army and still deployed. No, Sgt. Webb wanted to remind Americans watching her swing her daughter up in a great big bear hug that for every soldier serving overseas, there's a family back home making their own sacrifice. Take a look:

Brave 10-Year-Old Girl Home Alone Stops 3 Burglars in Their Tracks

You're home alone. You hear a noise that tells you someone is in your house. What do you do? If you're the 10-year-old girl who was home sick from school, you keep it calm, cool, and collected, you foil the robbery attempt, and you become a viral hero. Such is the life of Paityn Mock these days. I'm hoping parents across the country take notice. If you're wondering when a kid is "old enough" to be left home alone, Paityn's story might help you make up your mind.

Hilarious 'Ellen' Halloween Costumes Make 'Honey Boo Boo' and '50 Shades' Kid-Appropriate (VIDEO)

Is your kid still up in the air on who to be this Halloween? Ellen DeGeneres has a few words for you. Can you say Honey Boo Boo? How about Fifty Shades of Grey? Or Magic Mike? Yes, I'm still talking kid costumes. Sort of. The Ellen Show did a hilarious -- really, is anything on there not hilarious -- fashion show of kid costumes this week. The themes sound kind of out there (I say again, Fifty Shades of Grey!?), but she certainly has us thinking. Could the answer to Halloween happiness rest somewhere beyond the costume aisle at your local Target? Just take a look:

Jessica Ridgeway's Accused Killer Austin Sigg Said to Be 'Obsessed With Death'

Everything about the murder of 10-year-old Colorado girl Jessica Ridgeway has been unsettling for parents. Now add to it the fact that Austin Sigg, the suspect arrested and charged with killing the child, is just a child himself at 17. Coupled with the arrests of two teenagers in New Jersey on charges of killing 12-year-old Autumn Pasquale, and it's starting to feel like we're living in a world where our kids are suddenly flipping out on us. Except, maybe they're not. Since the news broke yesterday that Austin's mom had turned him in to Westminster Police, people have been coming out of the woodwork to say there were signs all along that something wasn't right with Austin Sigg. In an odd way, it should make us all feel better.

There's nothing quite like a good dance-off to get you on your feet and cheering. So let's give up some cheers for the dean at Whitney Young High School in Chicago (First Lady Michelle Obama's alma mater!) who spotted a group of kids dancing and busted out an Irish jig for the occasion. Video of John Fanning getting down with his students has gone viral. Here's hoping other educators are taking notice. These are the kind of people we need teaching our kids. Check this dancing dean out:

Ready for the best news you'll hear all day? Abigail Berthoff, the 5-year-old Missouri girl who went missing earlier this week, has been found! Alive! And Jeffrey Dean Shelton, the sex offender charged with abducting the little girl, has been whisked off to jail by cops. In a week that's brought us the arrests of teenagers in two different states for the alleged murders of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway and 12-year-old Autumn Pasquale, this was the sort of news we needed. Yes, horrible things happen to kids. But that's no reason to give up hope. As we can see with Abigail, there are happy endings too.

Bobbi Kristina Brown's Out-of-Control Drinking Is Why It's Illegal for Teens to Drink

Bobbi Kristina Brown hasn't exactly had it easy these past few years. Whitney Houston's daughter lost her mom in the most public of ways earlier this year, and dad Bobby Brown is hardly a pillar of the community. The teenager more than deserves her chance to go out and have a good time to try to move past her problems. But now there's talk of a drinking problem so bad that Bobbi may be headed to rehab.  At 19? When the legal drinking age is 21? Heads up, parents!

7 Celebs Whose Bodies Got Sexier After Breastfeeding

There's nothing like a celebrity mom losing the baby weight the old fashioned way to make us feel better about our chances of getting the sexy back. And Kristin Cavallari's recent confession that breastfeeding baby Camden Jack has really helped her slim down is a double win for us everyday women out here. It's a celebrity endorsement of breastfeeding that helps shut down the haters, and it's a little boost for the ladies who are feeling a little down about that tummy pooch. But is Kristin right? Is breastfeeding really going to help? Maybe you should ask these other celebrity moms who swear it helped them get back to their pre-baby weight.

Maci Bookout's crazy dating year is finally starting to make sense y'all! And when I say crazy, I do mean crazy. Have you been able to keep everything that's happened with the Teen Mom straight? Here, let me help. The Teen Mom was living with boyfriend Kyle King until all of a sudden she wasn't. Then she was dating Kyle Regal until, wait, no! She went back to Kyle King! And then just as soon as that relationship was back on track, it was over ... until this past week when Maci tweeted a whole bunch of photos of the two in Vegas. And now she's tweeting plans to get together with Regal? What the heck does this girl have in mind? Easy: she thinks you should be friends with your ex.
